317 Board Announces $775,000 in Capital Funds with Focus on Expanding Services in Hocking County

The Athens-Hocking-Vinton Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services “317 Board” has announced a $775,000 investment in capital projects with a focus on expanding capacity in Hocking County.

“The 317 Board is pleased to support these important infrastructure projects and expansion of services in Hocking County,” says 317 Board Executive Director Diane Pfaff. “All of the initiatives supported through this funding will contribute to the mental health and general wellness of our community members.”

These investments include:

$178,500 toward a school-based clinic at Logan High School in partnership with Hopewell Health Centers.

$245,000 for the acquisition and light renovation of an ADA accessible property for the relocation of the Home Away From Home mental health peer house in Logan, ran by Integrated Services for Behavioral Health.

$45,000 to the Athens Photo Project to expand peer-centered programming and classes in Hocking, Vinton, and Athens Counties.

A groundbreaking ceremony kicked off the construction on Logan High School’s clinic on November 16.

“The school-based health clinic will support our district’s commitment to the well-being of our students, ensuring they are healthy and ready to learn by bringing them care where they already are,” said Monte Bainter, superintendent of Logan-Hocking Schools. “We’re thrilled to work with our local hospital and Hopewell to improve care and support for students and families in our community.”
