- The 317 Board is governed by eighteen Athens, Hocking, and Vinton county residents who are appointed by either the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health or their county commissioners.
- 317 Board members must be a resident of Athens, Hocking, or Vinton counties.
- The Ohio Revised Code prohibits the following individuals from serving on the Governing Board:
- Board members of any of the 317 Board’s contracted service providers.
- Employees of any of the 317 Board’s contracted service providers.
- Individuals whose spouse, child, parent, brother, sister, grandchild, stepparent, stepchild, stepbrother, stepsister, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, or sister-in-law serves as a member of the board of one of the 317 Board’s contracted service providers.
- Individuals whose spouse, child, parent, brother, sister, stepparent, stepchild, stepbrother, stepsister, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, or sister-in-law serves as a county commissioner of Athens, Hocking, or Vinton counties.
