Athens Mental Health, Inc. is comprised of The Gathering Place, Home Away from Home and The Friendship House. All are community support centers with focus on mentally disabled adults in Athens, Hocking and Vinton Counties. You are required to complete an application for membership, and dues are $5.00 paid yearly. This fee entitles members to officially vote at the annual and house meetings. Once accepted as a member ,you will have the opportunity to assist in decision, planning and working with others during weekly meal preparation, holiday events, weekend trips and recreational activities.
The Gathering Place, Home Away from Home and Friendship House all have a home-like atmosphere where people feel comfortable talking with others and getting involved in social and recreational activities.
