The Gathering Place

The Gathering Place is a community support center that strives to fulfill the needs of mentally disabled adults in Athens, Hocking and Vinton Counties, by providing:

- A model for healthy living
- Homelike atmosphere where friendships may grow
- Life skills training
- Linkage to other neighborhood resources
- Promotion of positive self-awareness
- Recreational and social opportunities

What kind of services can I receive?

A place where you can go and talk with people who have similar needs.

A place where you can get involved in social and recreational activities.

How do I get help?.

The Gathering Place is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Feel free to stop by or call at (740) 592-2690 any day of the week during these hours.

What can I expect?

A member of The Gathering Place will give you an application for membership.

Once you become a member, you will be expected to help out with Gathering Place activities such as:

Weekly meal preparation
Holiday events
Weekend trips
Recreational activities
