My Sister's Place provides services to victims of family violence in Athens, Hocking and Vinton Counties. Domestic violence may include the following physical or emotional actions:
- Being held prisoner in your home
- Bruising or kicking
- Having personal items destroyed
- Pushing, shoving, pounding or slapping
- Verbal attacks or unfair blame
My Sister's Place Offers the Following Services: - Access to emergency food, clothing and medical care.
- Safe emergency shelter.
- Confidentiality of all services.
- No charges to victims.
- Referral to necessary support services.
- 24-hour toll-free crisis hotline.
- Advocacy throughout legal proceedings.
- Assistance with filing protective orders.
- Case management services.
- Individual counseling.
- Teen awareness groups.
- Weekly support group sessions.
Victims of domestic violence will often arrive at the shelter with only the clothes they are wearing. My Sister's Place always has a need for the following items:

Garbage Bags, Laundry Detergent, Dishwasher Detergent, Disinfecting Wipes, Disinfecting Spray, Toliet Paper, Paper Towels, All Purpose Cleaner, Energy-Efficient Light Bulbs Non-Perishable Food Items
