Valeria “Taffy” Marks Substance Abuse Prevention Award
Judge Wallar invests in Ohio’s recovery by taking all of his many duties and responsibilities seriously. The numerous youth and families that interact with his court benefit from his compassion and willingness to advocate on their behalf. He sees past the negative behaviors obvious at the surface level, deep into the causes behind them. He works very hard to connect consumers to the appropriate community-based services in an effort to bring about lasting change. His efforts to bring in additional resources to support behavioral healthcare services have been both tireless and extremely productive. Through his thoughts, words and deeds, Judge Wallar epitomizes a deep abiding commitment to the philosophy of the Ohio Association of County Behavioral Health Authorities “Treatment works, people recover, recovering people work, and working people pay taxes.”
